Dignity versus freedom.

God loves us so much that He gives us the power to choose.  Doesn't that just blow your mind to smithereens? We choose if we are going to worship Him.  We choose to do the right thing.  We choose to be generous or selfless.

One of these choices could also involve our response to Him when He asks us to do things like:

DANCE

SING

SHOUT

LIE ON YOUR FACE

TELL SOMEONE YOU DON'T LIKE HOW MUCH I LOVE THEM

and the list goes on....and just when you think you're the king or queen of obedience, He sends you a new one!

I came face to face with this one last week.  My sister Kate was leading a time of worship when she said that we need to grab hold of the promise we have from God and send up a victory shout!  I joined in half-heartedly as we yelled up to Heaven, when I suddenly came face to face with the reality of what do I want more?  Do I want to remain 'sain looking and yell in a lady like manner' or do I actually want my victory no matter what I sound like?

The battle rages in every heart when we come face to face with being uncomfortable.  Do we join in half-heartedly so we don't look like we're not participating, or do we give it all we've got and loose a bit of our pride in the process?

My moment came when I suddenly decided WHO CARES!!!  I want my victory and I want it now, in this moment!  I ran into the centre of our lounge yelling and screaming and grabbing at the air - crazy like!  But I meant it with all I had.  And I know something happened for me and my promise that night.

The cost?  Not much now that I compare the two.

Keep my dignity and loose my freedom?  No way!

I think I may be turning into one of those 'crazy Christians' who I used to look at funny and think "bless them Lord, for they know not what they are doing."  Ha ha!
